North Berwick has two golf courses, a swimming pool and sports centre,
a large park and many beautiful walks. Muirfield Golf Course - venue for
the 2002 British Open Championship - is just 10 minutes drive away.
The nearby island of Craigleith is the nesting place for many
thousands of puffins, and the adjacent Bass Rock is the summer
home for some 80,000 pairs of gannets, as well as guillemots, cormorants,
shags, terns and many other seabirds. Daily boat trips take visitors around
both the Bass Rock and Craigleith allowing visitors to see these beautiful
birds in their natural habitat. The less adventurous can bird
watch on the live cameras in the
Scottish Seabird Centre.
